Your Georgia income taxes can support Trinity Christian School

If you are a Georgia income tax payer, did you know that your tax money can benefit Trinity Christian School instead of being sent to the state to be used in Atlanta? If you make a donation to the Georgia Student Scholarship Organization on behalf of Trinity Christian School, your income tax owed will be reduced by the amount of your donation, or your refund will increase by the amount of your donation. It may seem too good to be true, but it works! This past year TCS received close to $40,000 in donations through the Georgia Qualified Education Expense Tax Credit Program, and this year we hope to reach over $50,000. These funds are used to provide scholarships to families who desire a Christian education for their children but need some financial assistance. The donor loses nothing, since you will receive the full amount of your donation back as a tax credit. The only catch is that you must apply to be a 2020 donor by January 1, 2020 in order to make sure you are approved before the state’s $100 million credit limit is reached, and your donation must be received by GASSO within 60 days of receiving your approval letter from the Department of Revenue. Then when you file your 2020 taxes (in early 2021), you will claim your donation and receive your tax credit. See the attached flier or for more information.
