January is gone and February is moving fast. I am thankful we start each year out in the life of our Church with a weekend of Prayer and the Word. I hope you were encouraged as much as I was to recommit to faithful prayer and study of the scriptures this year.
Here is a brief report on some of our diaconal ministries and budget. Emily and Margaret Kochetta had a good trip visiting the Halberts in Honduras. They packed a good contribution of Christian books from our church in suite cases and a guitar case to supply the Gracia Soberana Presbyterian Church Library.
On February 23, 2019, Open Hearts Community Mission is having their annual Chocolate Run to raise money in their effort to help the homeless and downtrodden in our community. Please see these websites for more information: thesweetestrace.com & ohcm.org.
On Sunday March 3, 201 we are planning on having a joint Sunday School Class for the adults and teenagers. We will have a member of Covenant Care Services and Choices of the Heart come tell us more about their life saving ministries.
Please be mindful to bring non- perishable food donations for Christian Social Ministries. You can bring these donations to your Fellowship Group Meal, place them in the wooden box on the east side of our Foyer or you can take larger donations of food, clothing and some furnishings to their facility at 122 East Parrish St. here in Statesboro. They will give you a donation slip for tax purposes also.
Please be mindful of those in need from our Church Family. Please let a Deacon know if we can provide assistance. Thank you for those who have signed up to assist our members with meals through: www.TakeThemAMeal.com
